These seem like good bargains at Electrozan. A Korean Wii (English menu) is going for KWD 75/-. There is a bundle selling for KWD 126/- with 4 games and a bag.
I’ve not been able to make up my mind for a while on which gaming console to pickup so when I saw the deal above, I picked it up. Only 5 pieces were left last night.
Seems the consoles are pre-hacked by Electrozan so you can even download Wii ISO’s (backup discs as they are called) from the net and play them. Haven’t tried that yet but should be interesting.
The games in that sports pack can really give you a good exercise. My arms were aching last night after a few rounds of volleyball.

Hi Mario, this is my 1st time on ur blog, nice site. Question.
1) The hacked Wii you bought, does it play all pirated games well compared to originals (without any screen delays, freezes etc.)
2) If you do a wii update from Nintendo’s website, will it get Bricked ???
Thanks.
Mike.

Well, I don’t know about pirated games. But “backup” games play pretty well on it. You can download these backup game dvds off the net, burn to regular dvd-r media and play smoothly on hacked wiis.
I’ve been told that the Nintendo update will not brick the Wii but it will delete the hacks that allow you to play “backup” games!

I’ve been to a shop just outside of Jarir Bookstore in Hawally, the guy there sells US & Korean Wii’s both un-hacked & hacked.
The US wii is a hardware hack and the Korean a software hack with different prices.
Has anyone tried both types of hacked wii’s here in Q8 ? Any difference in software vs hardware hack?
Thanks.

Go for the software hack on the korean model. You can upgrade it easily as well as add other hacks thru the homebrew channel.
