on travel technology …and everything else
Cisco has installed all kinds of new equipment at the office from core switches to a bunch of noisy appliances … two racks full! Now all this is supposed to make the network better but I’ve not been able to connect into the office from home using their ultra secure VPN connection. Why? The geni-asses at Cisco haven’t got a VPN client for my 64bit Windows 7. After waiting for a few days, I just decided to look for some free alternates.
ShrewSoft is one of the best clients I found. It worked out of the box. Just imported the Cisco vcf file provided by IT and in a second I was connected to our head office.
Sure beats connecting in via remote desktop or having to wait for days or weeks to get a port forward setup on the gateway.
