on travel technology …and everything else
We have had this RoundTable gadget from Polycom lying at the office for sometime now. Its basically a high-end webcam. It sends out two images to the laptop.
The first is a panoramic (360) view of the office. Useful to catch those lazies falling asleep during our calls.
And the second is an image of the speaker. There are 6 cameras mounted on this gadget and it detects the location in the room from where you are talking and automatically shows the image from that camera!
A very useful feature, I think, is that it makes our tiny conference room look pretty big.

Bond, nope. Different vendor. It even got stuck at customs and needed some amount of paperwork to clear. Guess they wanted to play with it.
Mathai, you should work for customs!

Oh ok…
Now all of a sudden the customs have got weird ideas…
One fine day, they declared a ban on the IP Telephones, we had a consignment which got delayed due to this drama.
Finally we were able to get them after a lot of Vitamin W was supplied.
