sheikh-saad-terminal

Well, the simple answer is “in the middle of nowhere”.

I’m sure anyone who has traveled on Wataniya Airways for the first time would have asked that question. There are sign boards pointing in the direction of this terminal all along the 55 and 50 but not a single sign on the 51. It took me 30 mins to find the damn place. I was quite worried since all the sign boards along the road to the terminal  read “restricted area” and “air force”.

When I drove in there, no one in the “un-identifiable” Valet parking drop-off  spot knew English and from the little Arabic I understood of what they were yelling, I just drove ahead and parked in the paid parking lot ahead. Luckily that guy was nice enough to tell me that I need to wait for a while near the first class entrance till someone comes and helps me. So drove all the way back and after waiting for 15 mins, someone did come by.

Only after flashing my First Class ticket, I was fussed over and started to enjoy the Wataniya Airways experience. Next time I’ll try driving there in a Rolls Royce, just to see if it makes any difference. ;)

Looks like the site was updated today with a map to the terminal.
