I like my desktop wallpaper to change every minute and I keep separate wallpaper collections for different times of the year… especially for Christmas …2 sets :) . Makes for a more lively desktop environment and also seems to get everyone excited during demos and  presentations.

Windows 7 does this out of the box. However XP doesn’t have this option.

John’s Background Switcher is a great freeware utility I’ve come across recently and it does a great job on XP. You can select multiple folders containing the wallpaper images you need, choose your preferred timing and effect and your all set in just a few mins. There are a lot more options available but I’ve not gone through them yet. Give it a try and brighten your XP desktops.
