When I came across the term “foldable car”, I was very intrigued. So I had to know more. Hiriko is a great little MIT pilot project which started in Spain. The aim is to build a bunch of tiny foldable electric cars which can shrink to a smaller size when parking (about half the length of a Smart).

There is a lot more to the project it but I found the folding aspect very interesting. What if we could use the same technique and fold all these regular to extra-large cars that we currently drive around. I bet most of our parking nightmares would be over. I can only image how odd a line of folded Hummers or Cadillacs would look like. :)

Personally, I love the concept of these tiny cars and they make sense for cities with narrow roads and little parking. But I would only drive them if every other car on the road was also a tiny car.

Looks like Aston Martin is setting up a new showroom in Al Rai. Its on the main road opposite Centerpoint.

I recall there was a used car showroom in that building previously. And they had some sweet rides parked in the basement.

First impression when you look at this car is… Avalanche?

Then you think, did I grow taller lately?

Then you notice the Honda symbol!

This thing looks exactly like a Chevrolet Avalanche but its much smaller. And since its Japanese you’ll probably get much better mileage.

Don’t you just want to own one of these?

I noticed this on 2 separate occasions in the last 2 days. Both times in different vehicles and with different drivers. This was a Lexus jeep. Once we got in and were ready to roll, the screen popped up. Here is what it says:

“Drive safely and obey traffic rules.

Watching this screen while vehicle is in motion can lead to a serious accident.

Make selections only while stopped.

Some map data may be incorrect.

Read safety instructions in Navigation Manual.”

And then there is an “I Agree” button. Neither driver clicked on that and it was bugging me the whole ride. The problem seems to be with Lexus. They should have put an “I don’t agree” button in there as well. That was if you want to look at the screen and drive or not obey traffic rules you don’t have to feel guilty and can continue to use that navigation panel.

I’ve been going up to Kuwait City every morning from Salmiya during various times ranging from 6.30 all the way to 12. Yes nice company, flexi timings.

The traffic usually piles up near the 2nd ring road flyover but it could start all the way from the 5th ring road. I’ve tried various options to get through faster. So here it is. Do let me know if it helps ya save 13 mins on the trip and overtake 355 cars in the bargain.

When I saw this ad for the Kuwait Police, the only thing that stuck on was BMW & GMC. Looked more like a mini ad for the two.

After watching Transporter 3, especially this clip, I’ve got an urge to buy an Audi.

A hotel like this could become very popular in Kuwait. This is the Benzz Park hotel in Chennai. I thought my wife was joking about this place till I saw it for real. Just check out the restaurants and halls…

An Ohio man used a friend’s cell phone to get back his car, cell phone, and cash, all of which were stolen in a car jacking, according to a local TV report. Alan Heuss was sitting in his running BMW in Columbus on Wednesday when an armed man opened a passenger door, stuck a gun in his face, and made off with his stuff.

After filing a police report, Heuss was meeting with some friends to drown his sorrows when one suggested that they try to contact the thieves by texting Heuss’ stolen cell phone.

“He said, ‘I’m going to text these guys, I’m going to blow some smoke their way,’” Heuss told the station. “He said, ‘I’m going to tell them I’ve got a bunch of hot chicks, as if I’m texting you, and that we’ve got some drugs, too.’”

The carjacking suspects fell for the ruse and went to an address sent to them by Heuss’ friend just seven hours after the carjacking. But instead of the “hot chick with drugs” they were expecting, they were met with by cops with cuffs.

And to make things easier for the officers, the suspects showed up in the stolen car.
