The Catholic Church in Kuwait celebrated its second Unity Congress last week. The theme this year was “Let us celebrate Him!”. This year’s focus was on understanding the various Rites within the Catholic Church. Till yesterday I didn’t know we had so many Rites. I was aware of just a few. An exhibition is open [...]
Swung by Carrefour last week when it was time to spin the wheel. They have a promotion going on where they spin that wheel and it picks a check-out counter. If you are the one checking out, you need not pay anything. You would think that people would be excited about this, but while I [...]
This caught my attention from quite a distance at night. I initially thought someone mounted a lit-up Christmas tree to the back of their SUV. When I caught up, I saw this guy on his BMW bike cruising down the 30. That’s a lot of brake lamps for a bike!!!
I was pretty amazed to see these guys delivering hundreds of flowers the same way most catering companies deliver food. This is very clever and pretty efficient. Just hope they don’t use the same muddy trays to deliver food later in the day!
Looks like there is a new hangar being constructed at the airport. Took this pic while return back today morning.
These seem like good bargains at Electrozan. A Korean Wii (English menu) is going for KWD 75/-. There is a bundle selling for KWD 126/- with 4 games and a bag. I’ve not been able to make up my mind for a while on which gaming console to pickup so when I saw the deal [...]
Alghanim has upgraded and expanded its Excite showroom at Al-Rai. Its bigger and very spacious. The part I liked most was this wellness/fitness section. Nice couch to chill out on, soothing music in the background and a scented humidifier. I was enjoying myself there till some fool, at the sound systems nearby, turned up one [...]
Where are you supposed to park your car when you go to the Indian Embassy? There used to be a lot in front of it but thats converted to some kind of a military compound for the Embassies Protection Dept.! And the entire street leading to the embassy is a no-parking area! Maybe this is [...]
After all the hype with Best Electronics, Ro and I decided to drop in and check it out. I must say I was very disappointed. The only interesting section was a tiny display with solar powered cell phones and a netbook with a built-in touch screen track pad. Both were display-only items and not for [...]
There is a new electronics store being inaugurated today evening. 9pm – 10pm. Looks like they have some pretty good deals. KWD 50/- for a S10 Lenovo netbook & KWD 20/- for an iPOD. Hope all their stuff is priced as nicely.
