Ever come across such days that you have so much to do, that you don’t know where to begin? Today is one such day. Forget the days not so long ago that I planned my work so well that I wasn’t rushed. Now I’ve come face to face with today, with so much planned yet with hardly the energy or strong will power to go ahead. If you’ve read my earlier post on chores, you’d get an idea of what I’m talking about. If you haven’t then I won’t bore you with details lest you change your mind about this delightful task.
I happened to watch a couple of movies amidst my busy (ahem) schedule - A Passage to India and The Color Purple. Both are academy award winning movies, so you can imagine the viewing - a little too heavy for the eyes. Oprah was super in Purple, she adds some spark and humour to the misery in the house. A Passage can best be reviewed on imdb; I couldn’t for the life of me, understand why this movie is so long! I mean, wouldn’t it have saved time, effort and money if it was shorter by say 2 hrs? If someone wanted more imagery, she could read the book. It still isn’t over yet, but I think I could guess where it was going. Although supposed to have been from the pre-Independence era, I frown on movies that portray India nothing more than a land of wild people, temple elephants, snake charmers and the like. Although the Indian actors in the movie spoke with lovely English accents, it seemed like a theatre production rather than a movie.
